4 Days Rwanda Golden Monkey Trekking & Hiking Adventure

Golden monkey trekking in Rwanda:the Golden Monkey trek is one of the least strenuous activities in Volcanoes National Park. The monkeys live at the bottom of the mountain range in the bamboo forest and terrain here is relatively flat and easy to trek. Basic fitness is therefore enough.

Rwanda Golden Monkey Trekking

Day 1: Airport transfer

Upon arrival at Kigali airport, you met your safari driver guide, who will brief you shortly and later transfer you to the booked accommodation in Kigali at Chez Lando Hotel (BB)

Day 2: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes NP. Travel time: 2hrs

Have breakfast at your hotel, checkout and visit Kigali genocide memorial and brief city tour, later drive to Musanze, where you will have a wonderful afternoon, relaxing at your lodge

Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge at La Palme Hotel (FB).

Day 3:  Golden Monkey trekking & transfer to Bwindi.

Today after you warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start off you day golden monkey trekking. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though no so hectic like gorilla trekking. You will later return for lunch.

After lunch, transfer to Bwindi via Cyanika border. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (FB)

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking & Transfer back to Kigali  

Have breakfast at the lodge, and later you will head out for gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be transferred to the park headquarters and in the company of the ranger guides, you traverse the forest jungle, hiking steep slopes and descending narrow valleys not forgetting crossing the seasonal streams in search of these endangered apes. The whole encounter can last about 2 – 6 hours with one full hour of spending with the gorillas. You will later return transfer back to Kigali, and if time allows visit the local market for shopping before heading to before heading to your booked hotel at Chez Lando Hotel (FB)

Day 5: Transfer to the airport

Have a relaxed morning breakfast and depending at your flight time, you will be transferred at the airport to catch up with your later evening flight. End of service!
